"And because it was so beautiful, it set me longing, always longing. Somewhere else there must be more if it. Everything seemed to be saying, Pysche come! But I couldn't (not yet) come and I didn't know where I was to come to. It almost hurt me." (page 74)
I know it's more than 2 sentences, but I couldn't stop at two! (plus, it wouldn't have made sense).
What are your teasers?
That's a lovely teaser. I've not read any of CS. Lewis's adult stuff. Here's mine: Small Blonde Hippy

I had to read this book for one of my university English classes and it's been a favorite of mine ever since. Thanks for sharing this teaser and reminding me it's been too long since I did a reread. I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll stop by to check out my teaser.
Lovely snippet...and great cover! Congrats on finding it.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
I haven't read this one, but I definitely like your teaser. Just the rhythm of the words makes me want to read more!
ReplyDeleteMy teaser this week is from The Lie.
C S Lewis is a beautiful writer :) I wouldn't have been able to resist either! Love the tease...

Hey! I'm sorry, but I can't seem to post a comment on your blog, I keep getting an error message :/
DeleteBut your teaser sounds good! But it also reminds me a bit of Spirit's Princess, which is about Himiko, an mythological Japanese figure.
